Unorthodox Therapy Concludes Mayor’s Office of Women’s Engagement Summer Tour Highlighting Mental Health Amid Rising Inflation

Philadelphia, PA — After three months of traveling across Philadelphia for the Mayor’s Office of Women’s Engagement Councilmatic District Tour, Monychann (Mo) McCarty, founder of Unorthodox Therapy Inc. (UTInc.), is closing this chapter with gratitude and purpose.

The summer-long tour spanned 30 stops across the city, creating space for women, civic leaders, and community members to gather in dialogue around health, wellness, and equity. At each stop, McCarty presented on the importance of protecting mental health in the midst of financial pressure and rising inflation, equipping attendees with free tools and strategies to strengthen resilience.

“Inflation is not just an economic issue, it is a mental health issue,” McCarty said. “When families feel the weight of financial strain, the stress can take a toll on their peace of mind. These conversations were about giving women real tools, reminding them they are not alone, and showing that healing is within reach.”

The Councilmatic District Tour was more than a series of meetings. It became a movement of connection, with full houses across districts, moments of vulnerability, and women sharing their lived experiences openly. Through storytelling, shared resources, and accessible practices, Unorthodox Therapy delivered on its mission: to be the first line of support for women’s mental health in Philadelphia.

From District 1 to District 9 and beyond, the impact of the tour underscored how critical mental health is to the fabric of community well-being. As costs rise and challenges mount, the need for tools, support, and dialogue becomes even more urgent.

“This tour has been a testament to the strength of Philadelphia’s women,” McCarty added. “We are not only navigating hard times, we are rewriting the story of what it means to care for our communities by placing mental health at the center.”

With the summer tour concluded, Unorthodox Therapy looks ahead to continuing this work year-round, advancing conversations, building bridges, and ensuring that women across Philadelphia have the resources they need to thrive.
