about us

Unorthodox Therapy Inc. (UTInc.) is a non-profit organization based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, engaged in statewide programming and policy work. The mission of UTInc is to aid women seeking mental health support that's accessible, affordable, non-clinical, and unorthodox. Our vision is to be a beacon of hope for women navigating the darkest passage in their current season of life. To introduce alternative and holistic therapy and act as the liaison for women reluctant to seek professional treatment. In pursuit of this mission, we create communities in the following categories, singleness, motherhood, single moms, and marriage. We collaborate with existing local women-owned businesses that model our guiding principles whose business help break the stigma surrounding mental health with their services and offerings. This, in turn, helps local small companies already doing the work gain visibility. We believe that when women are supported in mental health, communities prosper. Our objective is for women to have access, opportunity, and influence in all aspects of their public and private lives in mental health wellness. We plan to help by healing women across the country one story at a time.

UTInc. considers all initiatives and programs through the lens of five core values:

  • We believe that when women feel supported in mental health, communities prosper.

  • We seek mental health wellness for all women without discrimination based on nationality, economic status, class, ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, or marital status.

  • Our programs and initiatives help drive countrywide solutions to mental health barriers and stigma in women.

  • Empowering women is central to our mission. We support women for women.

  • Engaging men as allies, partners, and champions for mental health awareness in women is vital for our mission’s success.

  • What exactly do we offer? We partner with local women-owned businesses that provide services offering wellness events and programs priced at $25 or less. Aiding women seeking alternative and holistic support who are in the process of healing and looking for an unorthodox way of therapy. In part acting as the liaison for women who are reluctant to seek clinical therapy, most importantly we fund* the events/services/programs*. Money shouldn't be in the way of your healing journey and this is where Unorthodox Therapy comes in.

  • While we're in the beginning stages of production, 100% of the contribution will go towards local programs in major cities that aid women through mental health, through remote practices. Until we raise enough capital and have more exposure with our non-profit we will then have a physical safe space for our sisters. In our endeavors to make Single Mama Married (an unorthodox therapy) a just community; We commit and aim to bring mental health and wellness across the country through our network.
