Mayor’s Office of Women’s Engagement Celebrates Citywide Tour Impact and Housing Initiative with Over 1,000 Women Across Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PA — The Mayor’s Office of Women’s Engagement recently concluded its citywide Councilmatic District Tours with a powerful celebration that brought together more than 1,000 women from across Philadelphia. The event honored the collective work accomplished throughout the tours, with a special focus on sharing information, resources, and advocacy around the city’s housing initiative.

The celebration served as both a reflection and a milestone. Over the course of the tours, women gathered in neighborhoods throughout the city to engage in meaningful conversations about housing access, stability, wellness, and civic participation. The final celebration was a testament to the reach and impact of these efforts, uniting women leaders, community members, nonprofit organizations, and city partners in one shared space.

During the event, Monychann (Mo) McCarty, founder of Unorthodox Therapy Inc. (UTInc.), was recognized with two awards for her outstanding contributions and leadership throughout the tour. The honors highlighted her continued service alongside the Mayor’s Office of Women’s Engagement and her commitment to uplifting women through mental health advocacy, community building, and civic engagement.

“It has been an honor to serve alongside the Mayor’s Office and stand with women across Philadelphia,” McCarty shared. “These tours were about listening, educating, and building trust. Being recognized for this work is deeply meaningful, not just for me, but for the mission of Unorthodox Therapy and the women we serve every day.”

The housing initiative featured throughout the tours addressed one of the most critical issues facing Philadelphia residents today. By bringing this information directly into neighborhoods and creating accessible spaces for dialogue, the Mayor’s Office of Women’s Engagement reinforced its commitment to equity, transparency, and community centered solutions.

For UTInc., participation in the tours and the closing celebration aligned directly with its mission to support women’s mental health through connection, education, and advocacy. Housing stability is deeply tied to emotional well-being, and ensuring women have access to information and support is essential to building healthier communities.

The celebration marked not an end, but a continuation of the work ahead. As Philadelphia moves forward, the partnerships formed, conversations sparked, and leaders uplifted through these tours will continue to shape the city’s future.
