Women’s Committee of Philadelphia 250 Supports Historic Belmont Mansion as a Rising Tourism Destination Ahead of 2026 Celebration

Philadelphia, PA — As Philadelphia prepares to honor 250 years of American history in 2026, the Women’s Committee of the Philadelphia 250 Initiative is taking intentional steps to elevate one of the city’s most significant historic sites, Belmont Mansion, positioning it as a major tourism destination for the upcoming celebration.

The Women’s Committee, made up of civic minded women leaders across Philadelphia, has committed its energy, resources, and collective vision to supporting Belmont Mansion and its expansion. The mansion stands as a landmark of resilience and heritage, representing stories of African American history, freedom, and leadership. Its role in tourism is expected to grow significantly as the city welcomes visitors during the Philadelphia 250 festivities.

Members of the committee, including Monychann (Mo) McCarty, founder of Unorthodox Therapy Inc. (UTInc.), met at Belmont Mansion to collaborate, strategize, and deepen their commitment to a shared mission. The photos captured during the gathering reflect authentic moments of unity, connection, and partnership among women who are working together to build a stronger, more inclusive Philadelphia.

“Supporting Belmont Mansion is not only an honor, it is a responsibility,” McCarty shared. “This site holds powerful stories that deserve to be elevated as visitors from around the world come to Philadelphia for the 250th celebration. The Women’s Committee is proud to stand behind this work and ensure that women’s voices, histories, and contributions remain at the center of this historic moment.”

The committee continues to meet regularly to align on goals, enhance awareness, and mobilize support. Their efforts reflect a broader mission of the Philadelphia 250 Initiative, which aims to create people centered, inclusive experiences grounded in themes of independence, legacy, and shared prosperity.

For UTInc., being part of this committee connects directly to its mission of supporting women, storytelling, and community healing. By championing spaces like Belmont Mansion, the organization reinforces its belief that mental wellness and community pride grow stronger when women are empowered to preserve and shape history.

The Women’s Committee looks forward to continued planning, collaboration, and celebration as 2026 approaches. Together, the group is helping craft a narrative that honors the past, enriches the present, and inspires the future of Philadelphia.
