UTInc. Founder Highlights Mental Health at District 1 Tour and Announces Block Girl Conference

Unorthodox Therapy Founder Brings Mental Health Conversation to District 1 Women’s Engagement Tour at The Block Church

Philadelphia, PA — The Mayor’s Office of Women’s Engagement Tour made its way to District 1, hosted at The Block Church, a place of worship that holds profound meaning for Monychann (Mo) McCarty, founder of Unorthodox Therapy Inc. (UTInc.).

For McCarty, this stop was unlike any other. The Block is her home church and a space that has been instrumental in her own journey of faith and spiritual growth. Standing on the same ground that has shaped her walk with God, she shared her passion for women’s mental health and community care with neighbors, fellow women leaders, and city representatives.

“This moment was deeply personal,” McCarty said. “The Block Church represents transformation, restoration, and a bold faith that welcomes all people. To bring the mission of Unorthodox Therapy into this space feels like a full-circle moment where faith and mental health stand side by side.”

The District 1 stop also became an opportunity to announce the upcoming Block Girl Conference, set for October 18, a movement designed to empower women in faith, leadership, and personal growth. The conference, hosted by The Block Church, will gather women from across the city for worship, teaching, and connection.

By intertwining her roles as a church member, committee participant, and nonprofit leader, McCarty highlighted how women’s mental health is not only a civic priority but also a spiritual calling. Her voice echoed the values of both The Block Church and the Philadelphia250 Women’s Committee: healing, empowerment, and building legacy.

As Unorthodox Therapy continues to champion women’s mental health across Philadelphia, the District 1 tour stop was a reminder that true transformation happens when faith and wellness meet in community.
