Unorthodox Therapy Reflects on a Monumental Year with the Mayor’s Office of Women Engagement Committee
Philadelphia, PA – Unorthodox Therapy recently gathered with the Mayor’s Office of Women Engagement Committee to reflect on an incredible year of impact and progress across the city. As we closed out 2024, the committee celebrated the strides made in promoting mental health awareness and women’s empowerment across Philadelphia’s 10 councilmanic districts. This year-end review served as both a reflection and a launching pad for the continued work ahead.
For Unorthodox Therapy, being part of this historic initiative has been an honor and a testament to our commitment to mental health advocacy. Throughout the last two quarters, we have worked tirelessly to ensure that mental health awareness reaches every corner of the city, offering alternative approaches to healing and wellness. As a pillar of this movement, Unorthodox Therapy remains dedicated to creating spaces where women can explore different forms of therapy and holistic healing that meet their unique needs.
“We are proud to stand alongside the Mayor’s Office of Women Engagement in pioneering this effort,” said Monychann (Mo) McCarty, Founder of Unorthodox Therapy. “This is not about vanity; it’s about real impact—about connecting with women who are doing the work on the ground and providing them with the support and resources they need to thrive.”
As we look forward to the next phase of the tour, resuming in February, Unorthodox Therapy is eager to continue playing a vital role in fostering meaningful conversations and recruiting women who are passionate about making a difference in their communities. The work ahead is not just about awareness—it’s about action, transformation, and ensuring mental health remains a priority for all.
We are excited to share more details soon and invite women across Philadelphia to join us in this transformative journey. Together, we are shaping a future where healing is accessible, diverse, and deeply rooted in community.
