Unorthodox Therapy Joins Women’s History Month 250th Celebration to Uplift Bold Female Leadership and Community Healing
Philadelphia, PA – On March 18, 2025, Unorthodox Therapy proudly participated in the Women’s Committee for the 250th Women's History Month Special Program held at InLiquid Gallery at Crane Arts. The event featured a powerful fireside chat between Sue Jacobson, President of Jacobson Strategic Communications, and Dr. Kimberly McGlonn, author of Build It Boldly, honoring the resilience, leadership, and creative force of women across the city.
As a nonprofit committed to supporting women’s mental health and wellness, it was a natural fit for Unorthodox Therapy to take part in this momentous celebration. Our mission centers around uplifting women—especially those healing from trauma, navigating motherhood, and building their own paths with courage. Events like this deepen our community ties and amplify the voices of women who have been bold enough to heal, lead, and reimagine systems that weren’t built for them.
Hosted by the Women’s Committee, the event created an intimate space to explore themes of influence, strategic storytelling, and unapologetic leadership. The art exhibit and presence of community leaders offered a fitting backdrop to reflect on our shared commitment to women’s history and the healing still ahead.
Unorthodox Therapy’s founder, Mony Chan-McCarty, attended the program as both a listener and a representative of countless women balancing purpose with pain. “To be surrounded by women speaking boldly and building boldly was a reminder that healing doesn’t happen in silence—it happens in connection,” she said.
As we continue to serve women across Philadelphia through our trauma-informed services, monthly support groups, and community collaborations, being part of this historic event reminded us why we do what we do: because healing, too, is bold.
