Unorthodox Therapy Joins Philadelphia's FIFA Fan Festival, Bringing Community, Connection, and Mental Health Awareness to Lemon Hill
Philadelphia, PA — As Philadelphia welcomed thousands of visitors from around the world for the FIFA Fan Festival at Lemon Hill, Unorthodox Therapy Inc. (UTInc.) proudly joined the celebration, believing that some of the most meaningful opportunities to support mental health begin simply by showing up in community.
Known for creating accessible pathways to healing, UTInc. participated in the Fan Festival to connect with residents, visitors, and fellow organizations while introducing the nonprofit's mission to individuals who may have never encountered its work before.
The FIFA Fan Festival transformed Lemon Hill into a vibrant gathering place filled with music, culture, recreation, and international celebration. For Unorthodox Therapy, the event represented much more than soccer. It represented people from different cultures, backgrounds, and life experiences coming together in one shared space.
"As a nonprofit, our goal is to meet people where they are," said Monychann (Mo) McCarty, founder of Unorthodox Therapy Inc. "Mental health conversations should not only happen inside offices or conference rooms. They belong in parks, neighborhoods, festivals, and places where community naturally gathers. Sometimes the first step toward healing begins with simply knowing that support exists."
Throughout the festival, UTInc. networked with community organizations, local leaders, and attendees while sharing information about its programs and services. The organization used the opportunity to raise awareness about women's mental health, community healing, and the importance of accessible support systems throughout Philadelphia.
Participation in the FIFA Fan Festival also reflects UTInc.'s ongoing commitment to becoming an active presence wherever communities gather. Whether through civic events, cultural celebrations, neighborhood initiatives, or international sporting events, the organization believes that visibility creates opportunity and that opportunity creates connection.
The event also highlighted Philadelphia's growing role as an international destination ahead of the city's continued involvement in global sporting events. "We weren't there simply to hand out information," McCarty added. "We were there to celebrate alongside the community, build relationships, and remind people that healing belongs everywhere people gather."
