Unorthodox Therapy Joins Interfaith Roundtable to Honor Women of Faith and Champion Mental Wellness Through Community
Philadelphia, PA – Unorthodox Therapy was deeply honored to join the Interfaith Roundtable hosted by the Mayor’s Office under the leadership of Mayor Cherelle Parker. This intentional gathering celebrated the influence and impact of women of faith who continue to be pillars of transformation, care, and empowerment in Philadelphia.
As a nonprofit rooted in promoting emotional wellness and whole-person care, Unorthodox Therapy understands the profound role faith plays in personal growth and inner stability. Being invited to share our mission with a circle of spiritually grounded leaders wasn’t just an opportunity—it was alignment with everything we stand for.
The luncheon honored several remarkable women whose leadership extends beyond pulpits and professions into the very heart of community progress:
Rev. Dr. Joyce Shin – for her decades of spiritual mentorship and compassionate leadership.
Dr. Jaime Edie – for her commitment to faith-based education and civic empowerment.
Dr. Kimberly Johnson – for her tireless advocacy and inspirational voice across generations.
Nurse Practitioner Brittany Jones-Minor – for merging clinical care with soul-centered service.
The beautifully curated gathering exemplified what happens when vision meets presence. These are the moments that allow Unorthodox Therapy to continue bridging faith and mental wellness—not from the sidelines, but as part of the fabric of change.
“Our presence in these spaces isn’t just representation—it’s revelation,” shared MonyChann McCarty, Founder of Unorthodox Therapy. “Faith isn’t just part of our story—it’s the foundation of everything we do to support women emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.”
We extend deep gratitude to the Interfaith Roundtable and the Mayor’s Office for making space for honest dialogue, recognition, and powerful alignment. Unorthodox Therapy remains committed to walking alongside women of all backgrounds who are doing the inner work, rooted in faith and driven by purpose.
