Mayor’s Women’s Engagement Committee Launches 10-District Tour to Center Mental Health, Civic Connection, and Community Voice
Philadelphia, PA — The Mayor’s Office of Women’s Engagement Committee is embarking on a citywide mission—touring all ten of Philadelphia’s councilmanic districts to bring healing, government, and grassroots leadership together in one space. This isn’t a listening tour. It’s a movement.
Each stop on the tour is designed to hold space for real women in real neighborhoods, discussing real issues—starting with mental health. From postpartum depression to overstimulation, anxiety to neurodivergence, we believe that women’s mental health is not a side topic—it’s the foundation of a thriving city.
This non-partisan committee centers the well-being of women over party lines, with a focus on civic engagement that is accessible, human, and deeply rooted in community. Through workshops, wellness moments, and dialogue, the committee will spotlight:
Women’s mental and emotional health
Civic education and involvement
Local resources and leadership pathways
A call to action for women ready to lead in their neighborhoods
“We want government that can be touched, felt, and seen,” says Mony Chan-McCarty, committee member and founder of Unorthodox Therapy. “When women feel seen, heard, and supported—everything changes.”
Philadelphia deserves a civic culture that meets women where they are. From single moms to caregivers, entrepreneurs to elders—this tour is a radical invitation: your story belongs in the structure of this city.
Women from all ten districts are encouraged to attend, engage, and bring their sisters with them. This is also an open call to recruit more women into the movement—those who care about wellness, service, and systems that work for everyone.
